Eric Weinrich played hockey at the University of Maine from 1985 to 1988. He earned All-Hockey East, All-New England and All-America honors in 1987. He was a member of the 1988 U.S. Olympic Hockey team. Weinrich was a member of the Black Bears' first two hockey teams to make NCAA Tournament appearances. The Gardiner, Maine native signed professionally before graduation and has played for the Chicago Black Hawks, New Jersey Devils, Hartford Whalers, Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, St. Louis Blues and Vancouver Canucks. Weinrich was an NHL All-Rookie choice for the Devils in 1990-91.
