University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame
Ed Styrna coached at the University of Maine track program from 1956 until 1986, compiling a track dual meet mark of 130-52-5, and a cross country record of 59-40. He won 30 Maine State, 10 Yankee Conference, three New England and one IC4A Championships. Styrna earned 1959 New England Track Coach of the Year honors. He has been recognized by the State of Maine legislature for his contributions to the State of Maine. As an athlete, Styrna earned All-American honors in high school, prep school and at the University of New Hampshire. He graduated from UNH in 1948 and was indcuted into their Hall of Fame in 1982.
