Dan Kane's .441 batting average in 1984 ranked third all-time at the time of induction. He also led the team with a .382 batting average in 1987. Kane was an NCAA All-Region selection in 1984 and 1986. He was a member of Maine's 1984 and 1986 College World Series teams. He also earned ECAC North All-Conference honors in 1985 and was ECAC North Player of the Year in 1987. Following graduation, Kane became a physical education teacher at George Stevens Academy in Blude Hill where he continues to teach and coach today.
