Chris Keating was captain of the 1978 Black Bear football squad. For three seasons Keating led the Black Bears in tackles, including an incredible 197 tackles as a sophomore. He earned All-ECAC, All-New England and All-Yankee Conference honors. Chris also served as team captain in 1978. Following his career at Maine, Keating played six seasons with the Buffalo Bills and one season with the Washington Redskins. He was a starting linebacker for the Bills from 1981 through 1984. In 1983, Keating started in 16 games making 165 tackles.Â
