Goddard was captain of the basketball team in 1948-1949. And 1949-1950. He led the team in scoring, both total points and average, in both 1948-1949 and 1949-1950. Goddard was an All-State selection in 1949-1950. In addition, he was named to the All-Yankee Conference First Team in 1949-1950.
