White was captain of Maine’s 1993 baseball team which won the North Atlantic Conference regular season and tournament title and appearance in the NCAA Tournament. He earned NAC Player of the Year honors that season. He was named a Second Team All-America, named to the NAC All-Conference Team and also named to the NAC All-Tournament Team in 1993. He was a 1992 NAC Second Team selection and earned a spot on the 1991 NCAA All-Regional Team. During the 1992 season, he led Maine in home runs and RBI. The Houston Astros drafted White in 1993.
