Andre Aubut was the first University of Maine hockey player to be selected as an All-American in 1980. He was selected as an All-New England defenseman for three years and at the time of induction held school records for most assists in a game, most career goals and most assists and goals by a defenseman. He was an ECAC Division II Rookie of the Year in 1979, an All-ECAC Division I selection in 1980 and 1981 and a unanimous choice for the All-Decade team.
