ORONO - Redshirt junior Alex McKenney was named the America East's Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon, the second honor of his career and season, and Maine's seventh conference weekly honor of the season. 

McKenney was dominant in game two of the series, throwing six innings of one-hit baseball to guide Maine towards a 15-0 victory and spark a three game winning streak. He struck out six and walked three in the winning effort, his fourth of the season. He now ranks second in the conference in opponents batting average (.190) and 39th in the nation with 6.00 hits allowed per nine innings.

This is the second award for McKenney this season, and Maine's seventh weekly honor in 2021.
