Williamstown, Mass. -- The University of Maine women's track and field team placed 10th out of 39 teams at the New England Championships, held at Williams College. The Black Bears finished with 28 points over the two days of competition.
Grace MacLean led the way, taking home runner-up honors in the heptathlon. MacLean finished with 5,087 points. Following is a look at her individual finishes.
- 2nd - 100m hurdles (14.25)
- T-2nd - high jump (1.69m - 5-06.50)
- 5th - shot put (10.24m - 33-07.25)
- 2nd - 200m (25.14)
- 2nd - long jump (5.56m - 18-03.00)
- 8th - javelin (27.38m - 89-10)
- 4th - 800m (2:26.37)
Rachel Bergeron was the runner up in the hammer throw with a toss of 59.15m (194-01) and took home fifth place honors in the discus throw at 40.97m - 134-05.
Tiffany Tanner was 15th in the 800m, crossing the line in 2:13.76.
