ORONO, Maine -- On April 5, the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL) announced the signing of former University of Maine defensive back Sherrod Baltimore.
While at Maine, Baltimore appeared in 42 games and totaled 79 tackles with 10 pass breakups and three interceptions. During his senior season, Baltimore snatched a pair of interceptions in a win over Rhode Island. In the 2013 season, Baltimore returned a punt for a score in a 62-28 rout over Delaware.
The Redblacks open their season on June 23 in a Grey Cup rematch against the Calgary Stampeders. Ottawa is coming off its first championship season as it defeated the Stampeders in overtime, 39-33, to capture their first Grey Cup CFL championship.
