BALTIMORE, Md. – Jerron McMillian was named to the Preseason All-CAA Defensive Team and the football team was selected to finish ninth at the Colonial Athletic Association Media Day at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore on Wednesday.
McMillian, a senior defensive back from Hillside, N.J., was an All-CAA Third Team selection last season after notching 58 tackles and six pass break ups. He has already been selected to the Phil Steele Preseason All-CAA First Team.
William and Mary, a National Semifinalist last season, was selected the favorite in a poll of CAA head coaches and sports information directors. The Tribe received 12 first-place votes and was followed by James Madison in second with four first-place votes.
National runner-up Delaware was third with two first-place votes, followed by New Hampshire, also with two first-place votes. Massachusetts was fifth with one first-place vote, followed by Richmond and Villanova.
Rhode Island was eighth with one first-place vote, followed by Maine, Old Dominion and Towson to round out the poll.
