ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine men's ice hockey team announced its regular season slate for the 2026-27 season on Friday. The regular season includes 19 games at Alfond Arena and 24 Hockey East contests.

Maine opens the season on the road with a two-game series at Holy Cross on Friday, Oct. 2 and Saturday, Oct. 3. The Black Bears then return home for the home opener against Quinnipiac on Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10, before a two-game series against Colgate on Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24.
Hockey East play begins with a pair of games at Boston University on Oct. 30-31, before Maine returns to Alfond Arena to host UMass on Nov. 6-7. The Black Bears then head to Vermont for two games (Nov. 13-14) before closing out November with a home series against Boston College on Nov. 20-21.
After the Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle at New Hampshire (Dec. 4-5) and a single game at UMass Lowell (Dec. 11), Maine closes out the first semester against Army at Alfond Arena on Saturday, Dec. 19.
To start the second half, Maine will welcome Miami (OH) to Alfond Arena for a two-game New Year's series on Friday, Jan. 1 and Saturday, Jan. 2. It's then Hockey East play for the remainder of the regular season. A home series with Providence (Jan. 8-9) precedes a road trip to UConn (Jan. 15-16) and another home stand against UMass Lowell (Jan. 22-23). Maine will then travel to Providence for a single game on Jan. 30.
Maine will host Boston University at Alfond Arena on Friday, Feb. 5 in a special celebration of the 50th anniversary of Alfond Arena.
The final regular season road series will see the Black Bears travel to Merrimack (Feb. 12-13). Maine will return home for the remainder of the regular season, hosting Northeastern for a two-game series (Feb. 26-27) before closing out against Vermont on Saturday, March 6.
The 2026-27 season marks the 50th year of Alfond Arena and the 50th season of Maine men's ice hockey. Special programming and celebrations will be announced in the coming weeks.
