Orono, Maine -- University of Maine Athletics and its multimedia rights partner, Black Bear Sports Properties, are excited to announce a three-game television broadcast schedule for the 2017-18 season. These select games will air live on WVII/WFVX (Bangor) and WPME (Portland).

The broadcasts will feature each of UMaine's first three games, beginning on Sept. 9 when the Black Bears host Bryant at 3:30 p.m. Homecoming weekend follows when UMaine and Rhode Island meet on Oct. 14 at 3:30 p.m. for a live television broadcast. The three-game televised series wraps up on Oct. 28 when UMaine hosts William & Mary at noon.

Dan Hannigan and 9-year NFL veteran Mike DeVito will partner for their second year calling UMaine football on WVII/WFVX and WPME.

"I remember like it was yesterday, the most exciting time I've had here at ABC-7 and FOX 22," commented WVII/WFVX General Manager, Mike Palmer. "It was 2013 and I had been negotiating under the radar to acquire the University of Maine sports broadcasts after a competitor walked away. While awar on a family vacation, the deal was put to bed frantically using a cell phone and fax machine in the lobby of a Disney World hotel. I still get excited thinking about it. It was our finest hour. Each fall since my heart grows three sizes larger when the Black Bears take the field and the game is broadcast on our local sports leader, ABC 7 or FOX 22."

Rounding out the home schedule will be a contest on Nov. 4 in Portland at 2 p.m. against Delaware before the regular season concludes with Stony Brook at Alfond Stadium on Nov. 18 at noon.

All of UMaine's games can also be heard across the Black Bear Sports Radio Network. Rich Kimball and Bob Lucy join forces in the booth for their 21st year. Fans can find the games on the following networks: WVOM 103.9 FM, WVOM 101.3 FM, WVOM 1450 AM and WLOB 1310 AM.
