Mack Earns All-ECAC First Team Selection

Orono, Maine -- The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced on Thursday, Dec. 7 that University of Maine sophomore running back Josh Mack has been named to 2017 Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-ECAC First Team.

The latest award adds to Mack's decorated postseason in which he was also named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) First Team while earning a spot on the All-New England Football Team. Throughout the 2017 season, Mack earned a pair of CAA Offensive Player of the Week awards and was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, presented to the most outstanding offensive player at the FCS level.

Mack's 1,335 rush yards were tops in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and the fourth highest single-season total in Maine Football history. Mack, who earned his first All-CAA honor, also led the nation in rush yards per game (133.5) and ranked third among FCS leaders in all-purpose yards per game (161.5). Mack, who rushed for 100+ yards in seven of Maine's 10 games, added 200+ yard rush performances against Bryant and Rhode Island. Mack was the CAA leader in rushing touchdowns (9) and yards per carry (5.49).

Established in 1938, the ECAC is the nation's largest Conference, ranging in location from Maine to Georgia, and westerly to Missouri. The ECAC hosts numerous championships in men's and women's sports across Divisions I, II and III, offering opportunities for thousands of student-athletes.
