Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine football team has announced its 2018 game schedule which kicks-off on Thursday, Aug. 30 against Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival New Hampshire.

For the second-straight season, the Black Bears will meet border-rival New Hampshire in week one. It will mark the 107th all-time meeting between Maine and New Hampshire and be the Black Bears' first week one Thursday night home opener since hosting UAlbany in 2010.

Maine will play the first of its two Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponents in week two when it travels to Western Kentucky on Sept. 8 for the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

Following its bye week, Maine will round out its FBS slate with a trip to Central Michigan on Sept. 22 for another first as the game will mark the Black Bears first contest against the Chippewas.

The Black Bears complete their three-game road swing with their first visit to Yale since 1937. Maine, which will take on the Bulldogs at the Yale Bowl on Sept. 29, hosted Yale during the 2015 season.

Maine returns home on Oct. 6 when it hosts CAA foe Villanova. The meeting will be the 22nd contest between the two teams and will mark the eighth-straight season in which the two teams have squared off.

The Black Bears travel to Rhode Island in search of their 11th-straight win against the Rams in the 96th all-time contest between the two longtime conference foes.

Maine remains on the road when it goes for its fifth-straight victory against William & Mary on Oct. 20 before returning home for an Oct. 27 showdown with UAlbany. Maine has won three in a row against the Great Danes and hold a 6-5 all-time edge in the head-to-head series.

Towson returns to the Black Bears' schedule for the first-time since 2015 when Maine travels to take on the Tigers on Nov. 3. The Black Bears will be making their first visit to Towson since a 27-24 win in 2014.

Maine closes out the 2018 road slate on Nov. 10 when it travels to meet Richmond. After a one year hiatus, Richmond returns to the schedule in what will mark Maine's first trip to take on the Spiders since 2015.

To close out the 2018 regular season, Elon visits Maine on Nov. 17 for just the third-ever meeting between the Black Bears and the CAA's newest member.
