Jessica Jacques Added to Women's Ice Hockey Roster

Jacques, a forward, will join the team in the fall of 2016

Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine women's hockey coaching staff is proud to announce the addition of Jessica Jacques to the roster for the 2016-2017 season.

Jacques hails from North Reading, Mass and joins Maine after playing five seasons with the Boston Shamrocks in the Junior Women's Hockey League. Jacques was a three time all-star in the JWHL as well as an all-academic team member her senior year. She captained the Shamrocks her last two seasons and is a three-time USA hockey national development camp participant. During the 2015-16 season, Jacques finished with 12 goals and 24 assists for 36 points in 28 league games. In the 2014-15 season, she tallied seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points in 28 league games.

"From day one of meeting Jessica, her team first attitude and understanding of what it took to have success as a college hockey player stood out as a special trait," commented head coach Richard Reichenbach. "On the ice, Jessica does many things youth hockey players take time to develop at the college level. She moves the puck well, back checks, plays physical and plays a 200-foot game on both sides of the puck. She is a player that makes players around her better and we are excited to start working with her on the ice."
