Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine women's hockey is excited to announce the addition of Tereza Vanisova to the black bear family for the 2016-2017 season. 

Vanisova joins us from Strakonice, Czech where she played boys hockey at the U16 and U18 levels. Tereza has participated in four world championships with the Czech national team and three U18 championships. Last year Vanisova played in Ontario, Canada for Hockey Training Institute where she tallied 69 goals and 22 assists for 91 points in 34 games. 

"Tereza will be an offense threat in every game for us. She has speed, grit, skill and can put the puck in the net. She moves her feet and works extremely hard to put her self in great scoring positions.  Tereza battles hard for the puck and uses her body well along the boards and in front of the net," said coach Sara Reichenbach. " We are exited to have her here and looking forward to seeing her develop throughout her career."
