Orono, Maine -- University of Maine women's ice hockey coach Richard Reichenbach has announced the addition of goaltender Jillian Flynn, who will join the team in the fall of 2016.
"I have been fortunate to see Jillian play locally the last four years," said Reichenbach. "There is no recruit in my time which I was able to see play and develop like Jillian. She is a versatile, three-sport athlete who we're looking forward to seeing put on the Maine jersey. I know it is something she has thought about for a long time."
Flynn played in net for the Presque Isle boys high school team over the past four seasons. She finished her career with a 3.85 GAA, .895% save percentage and holds the records for most starts with 65 and wins with 28. In her sophomore year, Flynn led Presque Isle to the Eastern Maine Championship game. Jillian received the all-star nod her junior year on the second team and third team her senior year.
"Jillian has faced a wide variety of different offensive situations," added Reichenbach. "She has always battled in net and her positional play is sound with a high level of compete."
