Orono, Maine -- The honors keep rolling in for University of Maine freshman running back Josh Mack. Mack has been named the STATS FCS national freshman of the week, as announced by the organization on Monday, Oct. 3.
Mack carried the ball 21 times for 151-yards; Maine's highest rushing total by a single back since 2013. The freshman added three scores, propeling the Black Bears to a 35-31 victory over Bryant. Mack, who notched a game-long 25-yard rush, averaged 7.2 yards per carry in the win.
Maine is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 8 when it takes on CAA foe Delaware at 3:30 p.m.
