M. Ice Hockey - 1/5/2009
The University of Maine men's ice hockey team travels to Boston University on Saturday night for a battle with the second-ranked Terriers. Maine is 10-7-2 on the season and 5-5-1 in Hockey East play after dropping a 5-4 decision to New Hampshire last Sunday afternoon. Boston University is 13-4-1 on the season and 6-4-1 in Hockey East play. Boston University is fresh off winning the Denver Cup after defeating host Denver in the championship game. More
W. Basketball - 1/2/2009
The University of Maine women's basketball team led for most of the entire evening, but dropped a tough 68-63 decision to Holy Cross at the Hart Center on Friday in Worcester, Mass. The Black Bears fell to 2-11 on the season, while the Crusaders improved to 3-10. Brittany Boser paced Maine with a career-high 24 points. More

University of Maine freshman Gustav Nyquist (Malmo, Sweden) was named the Pro Ambitions Hockey Rookie of the Month on Friday. Nyquist led Maine to a 3-2-1 December with six points. More
Baseball - 12/23/2008
University of Maine junior catcher Myckie Lugbauer (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) was recognized as a third-team Louisville Slugger Pre-Season All-American as announced by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper on Tuesday, December 23. Lugbauer was one of six catchers from around Division I named to one of the three pre-season teams, and one of three on the third-team. More

To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Hockey East The University of Maine has launched a month long poll. Between now and January 29th fans can decide the top 5 moments in Maine Hockey East History. Starting at the February 1st game against UMass the video highlights of the top 5 moments will be counted down during each game. M. Basketball - 1/3/2009
The University of Maine men's basketball team fell to Binghamton in both teams' America East opener by the score of 70-62 on Saturday afternoon at Alfond Arena in Orono, Maine. Maine falls to 5-9 and 0-1 in conference play while Binghamton improves to 8-4 and 1-0 in America East. Maine was led by America East Player of the Game Gerald McLemore (San Diego, Calif.) who had 16 points and two steals for the Black Bears. More
W. Basketball - 12/19/2008
The University of Maine will get into the holiday spirit with a basketball ticket sale. Now through Jan. 10, the Black Bears will invite fans to purchase five tickets for just $25 dollars to any future Maine men's or women's basketball game. Fans can spread the purchase over multiple dates or use all five tickets at one game. Tickets may be purchased for games beyond the Jan. 10 date but the transaction must take place prior to Jan. 10. University of Maine sophomore forward Lem Randall (Snow Lake, Manitoba) was named the Reebok Hockey East Player of the Week on Tuesday, Dec. 30. Randall led Maine in the Florida College Classic with a team-best three points. More
W. Basketball - 12/29/2008
The University of Maine women's basketball team dropped an 87-55 decision to Drexel on Monday afternoon on the final day of the 2008 Hawk Classic in Philadelphia. The Black Bears fell to 2-10 on the season, while the Dragons improved to 5-6. More

Jeff Dimmen - Men's Ice Hockey
In the Black Bears' 5-4 loss to New Hampshire on Sunday, Dimmen (Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored a goal and an assist. Early in the second period Dimmen assisted on Maine's first goal with a pass to Will O'Neill (Salem, Mass.) to even the game at 1-1. Dimmen then gave the Black Bears the 2-1 lead with his fourth goal of the season.

Brittany Boser - Women's Basketball
Boser (Palmer, Mass.) led Maine in scoring in both games this week, including a career-high 24 points in Friday's narrow 68-63 loss to Holy Cross. Boser was 11-13 from the field with three rebounds and two assists. In the Black Bears' loss to Drexler, Boser also led Maine with 14 points and five rebounds.
